Grease a 6-inch cake tin with oil, dust with flour, place a parchment paper. Keep aside.

Mix oil, sugar in a bowl. Add curd and cream it for 2 minutes, add vanilla essence and mix.

Place a sieve on the bowl. Add maida, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, milk powder and sieve in wet ingredients bowl mixture. Mix with a spatula. Gradually add ½ cup water and mix gently.

Pour the prepared cake batter in a greased cake tin. Tap for 2-3 times.

Bake in a preheated kadai for 30 minutes on low flame or can bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees.

After 30 minutes, uncover the cake and check with a toothpick, if toothpick comes out clean, take out the cake tin from the kadai or oven, allow to cool for 20-30 minutes. Demould on a wire rack and allow to cool completely.

Add chilled cream in a bowl and beat with an electric beater till stiff peaks.

Add food colour and mix with a spatula.

Place a star nozzle in a piping bag, fill with whipped cream.

To prepare, stand for the gravity defying cake. Take 4-5 skewers and make a thick log by pasting them together according to the cake's height. Make a hole in the centre of the cake board so that the Log can be inserted in the cake board and seal it with a glue gun from bottom side and upper side. To make the stand for the cake, paste three disposable water bottle’s caps or any other objects of similar height on the bottom side of the cake board.

Now carefully make a hole in the centre of the heart shaped cake sponge so that the Cake can be kept erect on the Log of skewers. (see the video for reference)

Gently insert the cake in standing skewers as shown in the video. Apply a thin layer of whipped cream on all sides of the cake. Pipe out the roseate on all sides of the cake. Our gravity defying cake is ready.
