For icing sugar- 2 cups sugar 2 tbsp corn flour For Corn syrup – 5 tbsp sugar 3 tbsp water 1 tsp lemon juice 1 tsp ghee / butter Gel food colours
Add 2 cups sugar in a mixer jar and grind in fine powder. Open and add 2 tbsp corn flour in a jar and grind again. Now sieve and our homemade icing sugar is ready. For corn syrup – Add 5tbsp sugar and 3tbsp water in a pan. Allow sugar to melt on low flame, stir occasionally. Add lemon juice and prepare a one thread sugar syrup. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool properly. For fondant – Add 1 cup sugar in a bowl, gradually add corn syrup and prepare a hard dough, if needed add icing sugar or corn syrup for making a perfect dough. Transfer the dough on a board, add icing sugar and knead the dough for 3-4 minutes and make the dough smooth. Cover the sugar dough with a cling film and keep aside for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, open the cling film and knead the sugar dough for 2-3 minutes with greased hands, if required you can add icing sugar. Our homemade veg fondant is ready. Cover the dough with cling film and keep in an airtight container and store in a fridge for 2-3 months. When you want to use or colour the fondant, add food gel colour in fondant and decorate the cakes.
