Boora / bura / tagar is a basic ingredient for making Indian sweets like laddus, pedas and many more. From this boora we can get perfect taste and texture totally like halwai style sweets. We can prepare this boora / tagar in few minutes with sugar and water only. So on this diwali and on all other occasions prepare all sweets & desserts at home using homemade Boora.

Sugar
Add 1 cup sugar 2-3tbsp water in a heavy bottomed wok. Mix. Switch on the flame and allow sugar to melt on medium flame. Stir continuously. Stir continuously on low flame.

Cook the sugar syrup on low flame till it becomes frothy and when big bubbles start appearing on top. Switch off the flame.

Stir vigorously till sugar syrup becomes dry and turns into powder form.

If needed crush with a flat-bottomed bowl. Boora shakkar / tagar is ready. Now sieve it.

Store and enjoy homemade sweets made with it.
