Today we are going to make a very healthy, tasty, soft & spongy dhokla with yellow moong dal. It is very easy and perfect recipe for breakfast. All you have to do is watch the video, follow the steps and here you will be ready a very classy, homemade dhokla. Uploaded by admin on 18-Sep-2020.
1 cup yellow moong dal 1 inch ginger 1 green chilli 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp eno (fruit salt) 1 tbsp corn flour For tempering- 1 tbsp oil 1 tsp mustard seeds Green chillis Curry leaves Fresh coriander
Clean and wash yellow moong dal with water, soak for 4-5 hours. Remove all water from the soaked moong dal. Add soaked moong dal, 1 inch ginger, 1 green chilli in a mixer jar and blend to make a smooth paste, if needed add 1-2 spoon water. Transfer the moong dal paste in a bowl. Mix 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp corn flour in dal paste. Beat dal paste for 5-6 minutes till it is fluffy and airy. Add 1 tsp eno (fruit salt) and mix nicely. Grease a 6 inch mould or plate with oil, pour moong dal paste. Steam dhokla on high flame for 15-20 minutes on high flame. After 20 minutes, open the lid and check with a toothpick or knife. Heat oil in a tadka pan, crackle mustard seeds, add curry leaves, green chillis, cook for a minute. Add 1 cup of water, add salt and allow to boil. Allow to cool and demould the dhokla. Cut in square pieces. Pour prepared tadka water on steamed dhokla, garnish with fresh coriander. Cover the dhokla with a lid for 5 minutes. Soft, spongy and healthy moong dal dhokla is ready.
