South Indian food is considered as a healthy requires very little oil and can easily be prepared. People love to eat south Indian food in breakfast, lunch or dinner. Idli and dosa is one of the most popular south Indian food among all Indians. But idli dosa batter making process is a very lengthy and time consuming process, so today Food Connection is presenting a very useful video of instant idli dosa premix which makes the preparing of Idli dosa a very hassle free process. 2 cups of rice
3/4 cup urad dal
1/2 cup poha
1tbsp methi dana
1tbsp salt
1tsp baking soda / eno
1 cup curd
Take two cups of rice in a bowl and 3/4 cup of urad dal in another bowl. Wash dal with water

and remove extra water.

Spread washed dal on a kitchen napkin, allow to dry under fan for 2 hours or till they dry.

Wash rice with water, remove water and spread on kitchen napkin, allow to dry under fan for 2 hours.

After 2 hours dal and rice are completely dried.

Dry roast rice and 1/2 cup of poha for 2 minutes on low flame.

Switch off the flame and allow to cool. Dry roast dal for 2 minutes on low flame. Add 1tbsp methi dana and allow to cool. Rice, poha and dal is ready to grind.

Add rice in a jar and prepare a fine powder. Sieve the rice flour and add leftover rice in mixer jar and grind again and sieve.

Add dal in the same mixer jar and grind in a fine powder. Sieve dal flour, and mix in rice flour. Mix 1tsp baking soda and 1tbsp salt.

Instant idli dosa premix is ready, store in a jar. Today we are preparing idli and dosa with instant idli dosa premix. Take two cups of instant premix in a bowl. Mix 1 cup curd and water and prepare a thick batter. Cover and keep aside for 10 minutes.

Uncover and give a good stir, fill the batter in greased idli moulds. Steam in a steamer for 15 minutes on high flame.

Switch off the flame and allow to cool for 2-3 minutes. Demould the steamed idlis.

For dosa add 1 tbsp of water and prepare thin dosa batter. Heat a non stick tawa on low flame, add few drops of oil, wipe out extra oil with a paper napkin.

Pour a spoonful batter in the center of tawa, spread and allow to cook on medium flame till brown marks appear. Roll the dosa.

Soft idlis and crispy dosa is ready with homemade instant idli-dosa premix. Enjoy!
