Today we are coming with a traditional sindhi sweet recipe. It is very crispy, juicy and tasty sweet recipe. This Sindhi gheeyar is a famous street food. It is specially prepared on the festival of colours, Holi. You can easily prepare it with simple ingredients in an easy manner. Do try this simple and amazing homemade sweet recipe for your family. 1 cup maida 1/4 cup fresh curd (dahi) A pinch of red orange food colour A pinch of baking soda For sugar syrup - 1 cup sugar Red orange food colour Cardamom powder For garnishing - Pistachio flakes, chopped nuts, dry rose petal, chandi varak
For batter, add maida, curd, red orange food colour in a bowl. Gradually add water and prepare a thick and lump free batter. Cover and keep aside for 8-10 hours. For sugar syrup, add 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup of water in a pan, cook till sugar dissolves properly. Add red orange food colour. Prepare a thin sugar syrup. Switch off the flame, add cardamom powder. Keep aside. After 10 hours, the batter is nicely fermented. Add a pinch of baking soda and mix. For making sindhi gheeyar, we have to need a plastic bag or a piping bag. Fill the plastic bag with the prepared batter and cut a small tip of plastic bag's corner with scissors. Heat oil or ghee on medium flame. Place a metal ring in the center of oil. Randomly pipe the batter out in the ring as shown in the video. Allow to fry for a minute on medium flame. Gently press the gheeyar with a fork or a small spoon so that it leaves the sides of ring. Take out the ring from oil and fry the gheeyar for a minute or till it is crispy. Take out the fried gheeyar from oil, fry all of them in the same way. Sugar syrup should be luke warm. Dip the fried gheeyar for 30 seconds in sugar syrup. Take out and keep on a sieve. Sweet gheeyars are ready. We will decorate the tasty gheeyar with edible silver foil (chandi varak), pistachio flakes, dried rose petals and chopped nuts.
