Crispy, kurkuri chakli is a very popular snack during Diwali. In south India it is known as Murukku. Chakli is a traditional dry snack recipe. We can store it for month. These can be prepared with different methods and ingredients. Today we are going to show a very quick, instant and easy recipe of crispy chakli. These chaklis are prepared with rice flour and besan. Enjoy diwali with homemade crunchy chakli.

1 cup rice flour (chawal ka aata)
1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp sesame seeds (til)
1/2 tsp carom seeds (ajwayan)
3tsp ghee/ butter/oil
1/4 tsp hing
Mix rice flour, gram flour (besan), salt, hing, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, ajwayan, sesame seeds, ghee in a bowl.

Gradually add hot water and prepare a soft dough.

Grease the dough with ghee and make it smooth.

Cover and keep aside for 10 minutes.

Dough is prepared for chaklis. Place a star disc in a sev maker. Fill the sev maker with dough and close the lid.

Press the chakli maker and prepare swirl as shown in the video, seal the starting and end parts properly.

Prepare all the chaklis in the same way.

Fry prepared chaklis in hot oil on medium flame.

Take out all the fried chaklis from oil.

Crispy chaklis are ready, allow to cool and store in an airtight container.
