Dal Makhani is very popular dal recipe, we ordered it in restaurants, dhabbas and also prepare it at home for special occasions and sometimes for normal use. Today we going to prepare rich, creamy, tasty dal makhani at home in easy manner. It is tasty, easy, simple, healthy,nutritious, homemade recipe for all.

1/2 cup whole black urad / sabut kali urad
1 tbsp kidney beans / rajma
1 tsp salt
1 onion finely chopped
2 chopped green chilli
1+1/2 cup tomato puree
1 tbsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala
fresh coriander
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp fresh cream / malai
2-3 tbsp pure ghee
Wash and soak black whole urad and rajma for 8-10 hours.

Add soaked dal and rajma, salt and 1 glass water in a pressure cooker. Take 2 whistle on high flame and allow to cook on low flame for 20 minutes.

Heat ghee in a wok, crackle cumin seeds, add onion and green chilli. Cook on low flame till onion gets brown in colour.

Add ginger-chilli paste and cook.

Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and cook for a minute.

Add tomato puree, salt and cook for 7-8 minutes on low flame.

Open the pressure cooker and pour the cooked dal in the Wok. Add 1 cup of water and cook for 10 minutes on low flame. Cook till dal thickens, stir intervals.

Add butter and fresh cream, garam masala, cook on low flame for 5 minutes.

Dal makhni is ready. Just see the velvety texture. Garnish with fresh cream, fresh coriander and serve hot. Enjoy with lachha paratha/ roti or naan.
