Chana dal puri is stuffed fried masala puri. You can enjoy it in breakfast, lunch or dinner. This chana dal puri can be prepared with whole wheat flour, so we can enjoy this healthy recipe with our loved ones. These are very crispy, tasty and easy to make.

For dough-
2 cups of wheat flour
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp ghee
For stuffing -
1/2 cup chana dal (soaked for 3-4 hours)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)
1 tbsp red chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp garam masala
Soak chana dal for 3-4 hours, drain out all water. Add soaked chana dal in a pressure cooker, add salt, turmeric powder, 1/2 cup water. Take 3-4 whistles on medium flame. Allow to cool.

For stuffing heat oil, crackle cumin seeds, fennel seeds.

Add grated ginger, green chilli cook for a minute.

Add boiled chana dal, red chilli powder, salt, amchur powder, garam masala in wok and mix nicely. Mix and mash the stuffing.

Switch off the flame, allow to cool.

For making dough, add wheat flour, salt, ghee in a vessel. Mix and knead a soft dough using water.

Cover and keep aside.

Add 1/2 tsp ghee and knead again for a minute.

Prepare small balls from the dough.

Roll the ball with a rolling pin in a small disc, place 1 tbsp stuffing in the centre and seal it properly. Now gently roll in a thick disc with the help of rolling pin.

Fry in hot oil on medium flame.

Crispy, spicy chana dal puri is ready to eat.
