1 cup wheat flour (genhu ka aata) 1/4 cup chopped onion (pyaj) 1/4 cup green peas (matar) 2 green chopped green chilli (hari mirch) 1/4 cup peanuts (moongfali) 5-6 chopped garlic (lahsun) Few curry leaves (curry patta) Fresh coriander (hara dhaniya) 1 tsp red chilli powder (lal mirch powder) 1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi powder) 1/2 tsp mustard seeds (Rai) 1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) 2 tbsp oil (tel) 2 Dry whole chillies
Heat oil in a wok. Crackle mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Add green chilli, dry red chilli, curry leaves, garlic in hot oil and cook for a minute. Add peanuts in oil and cook for 2 minutes. Add onions and cook. Add frozen green peas and cook. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and cook for a minute. Add wheat flour and roast on medium flame till aroma comes from flour. Add 1 cup hot water and mix. Cook for a minute. Add chopped tomatoes, lemon juice and fresh coriander. Switch off the flame, cover and keep aside for 5 minutes. Delicious and healthy wheat flour upma is ready. Fill upma in a bowl and demould on a plate and serve hot.
