1 cup Kidney beans (rajma) Soaked for 8-10 hours 1 cup finely chopped onions 1 cup finely chopped tomatoes 2 chopped green chillis 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 1/2 cup fresh curd 1 tbsp red chilli powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp salt or to taste 1/2 tsp garam masala fresh coriander
We have soaked kidney beans overnight. Add soaked kidney beans and salt in pressure cooker. Allow to cook on medium flame and wait for 8-10 whistles. Heat oil in a wok and crackle cumin seeds. Add bay leaf, green chilli, onion, ginger-garlic paste. Mix and cook on low flame till onions get light brown in colour. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and mix. Cook for 1 minute. Add tomatoes, salt mix them. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame. Open the lid and add 1/2 cup water. Mix, cover and allow to cook till tomatoes get soft. Uncover the lid and mix. Add curd and mix continuously on high flame. Which will give a tasty and beautiful twist to the punjabi masala rajma. Open the pressure cooker. Open the lid of wok and mix the cooked masala nicely. Add boiled kidney beans in masala and mix nicely. Cook for 5 minutes on low flame. Add garam masala and fresh coriander and mix. Switch off the flame.
I am an explorer of food and I feel that people who love to eat are always the best people. I am passionate about cooking and firmly believe in tha a recipe has no soul, you as the cook and with your affection must bring soul to the recipe. I like to show creativity with food which can be made with easily available ingredients in the kitchen.
