Angoori petha is famous sweet of agra. It is prepared with just two ingredients. This is healthy and fat free recipe which you can prepare quickly and in an easy manner. These are sweet, juicy and delicious sweets. On festive days prepare them and enjoy fresh homemade sweets

1kg Ash gourd 200g sugar 1/2 tsp rose water A pinch of red food colour One slice of lemon 1/2 tsp Edible lime (khane wala chuna)
This is ash gourd and easily available at vegetable vendor.

Cut in thick slices and peel. Remove the seeds.

Cut with cutter or you can scoop them too.

Add edible limestone in water and soak ash gourd pieces for 8-10 hours.

Now they are stiff and firm.

Wash them 3-4 times with water.

Boil for 6-7 minutes on high flame.

Check with a toothpick, if it is inserted easily it means they are done.

Switch off the flame and drain the excess water.

Add boiled ash gourd pieces and sugar in a sauce

pan. Allow to dissolve all the sugar and stir.

Add rose essence and a pinch of red food colour in sugar syrup.

Add 1/2 tsp lemon juice and stir continuously.

Add 1/4 cup water to prevent thickening of sugar syrup.

Now they are transparent and shiny. It takes 6-7 minutes. Switch off the flame. Allow to cool completely.

Now these melon candies are ready to eat. Keep them in fridge and enjoyyyy
