A swiss roll is a type of sponge cake roll filled with whipped cream, jam or icing. Swiss roll cakes is a ultimate decadent gourmet dessert that looks ridiculously complected but is totally doable and requires very less amount of ingredients and steps

1 Cup maida (all-purpose flour) 2 Tbsp Butter 1/4 Cup powdered sugar 1 Tsp baking powder 1/4 Tsp baking soda 1/2 Tsp lemon juice 1 Tsp vanilla essence 1 Cup milk 1/2 Cup Mixed fruit jam or apple jam. A pinch of red food colour
Add powdered sugar and butter in a bowl and mix till it becomes smooth. Sieve maida, baking powder, baking soda in butter-sugar mixture.Give a stir.Add vanilla essence, lemon juice and gradually add milk. Prepare a thick cake batter.Take out 1/4 cup cake batter in a small bowl and add red food colour.

Both batters are prepared.Place a grill plate in sandwich maker, heat and grease with oil.First, I will pour red cake batter on a greased grill plate in a pattern. Cook for few seconds.Now pour white cake batter and spread evenly. Cover and allow to cook for 5-6 minutes.Switch off. Open and check with a toothpick. It is perfectly cooked.Carefully remove the plate from the sandwich maker and place on a kitchen napkin.Flip and roll as shown in the video. It is very hot. Do it carefully. Keep aside for 3-4 minutes.Mix the jam nicely.Unroll the log. Apply jam on cake sheet.Again roll, cover and keep in fridge for 30 minutes.

Cut in slices. Eggless, soft, delicious swiss rolls in sandwich maker are ready.
