1 Cup Sooji / semolina 1/2 cup Powdered sugar 3 tbsp Melted butter 1 Cup Milk 1/2 tsp Baking powder 1/4 tsp Baking soda Cherry For sugar syrup 1/2 Cup Sugar 1/2 Cup water Rose essence
Mix sooji, sugar, butter, milk in a bowl, cover and keep aside for 10 minutes. Add baking soda and baking powder. Mix with cut and fold method. Transfer in a 6 inches baking tray and bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes on 180 degrees. Meanwhile mix sugar and water in a sauce pan for sugar syrup. Melt sugar and add rose essence. Switch off the flame and keep aside. Take out baking tray from oven, allow to cool, cut in square pieces and garnish with cherries. Pour sugar syrup over the cake and enjoy middle eastern sweet recipe.
