2 potatoes 1 cup besan 1/4 cup rice flour 1 tsp salt 1 tsp red chili flakes 1 tbsp Fresh coriander 1/2 tsp Ajwain 1/2 tsp red chili powder 1/4 tsp Haldi 1 pinch baking soda Oil for frying
Peel raw potatoes, wash and slice them, dip in water for 5 minutes. Take them out from water and spread on a kitchen towel. Allow to dry the excess water. For batter, mix besan, rice flour, and all spices in a bowl. Add water and prepare a medium thick batter. Add baking powder, and 1 tsp hot oil. Mix. Dip potato slice in batter, and fry in hot oil, fry them for a minute, take them out and enjoy surat famous batata puri with chutney and tomato ketchup.
