This five mix dal is famous in rajasthan and it prepared for bati and makki aata dhokla, today we are making it without onion and garlic.

1 tbsp Yellow moong dal
1 tbsp Black urad dal
1 tbsp chana dal
1 tbsp Toor dal
1 tbsp green moongdal
1 Tomato
1 tbsp grated ginger
Chopped ginger
1 tsp Cumin seeds
Red chili powder
Garam masala
Haldi powder
Fresh coriander
Ghee / Oil
Mix all five dal in a bowl, wash and soak for 20-30 minutes.

Add soaked dal in a pressure cooker, add tomato, salt, turmeric powder, 1 cup water and take 3-4 whistles on medium flame. Keep aside.

For tadka – heat ghee in a pan, crackle cumin seeds, add hing, green chilis, grated ginger and cook for a minute. Add red chili powder, garam masala, cook for 30 seconds, add 1 tbsp water or as needed, add tadka in boiled dal, garnish with fresh coriander.
