  1 Cup gram flour (chickpea flour)

  1 Tsp. Papad Khar (1/2 tsp. baking soda)

  1/2 Tsp. salt

  1/2 Tsp. carom seeds

  1 Tbsp. oil + oil for frying

Add gram flour and carom seeds in a vessel.

Add 1 Tbsp. oil and mix well.

The flour should be crumbly.

Mix salt and papad khar in 1/4 cup water.

Make a soft dough using salted water.

It will be sticky. Collect and knead well.

Cover and keep aside for 5 minutes.

Make small balls from the prepared dough and give cylindrical shape.

To prevent slipping I have kept a kitchen napkin under the board.

Place a cylindrical dough on the board and gently press with palm.

Remove it with a thin and sharp knife.

Prepare more fafda. Fafda should be thin.

Fry in hot oil on low-medium flame.

Flip and fry till they become crispy.

Take out from oil.

Enjoy crispy homemade fafda.
