  500ml full cream milk

  50g Puffed lotus seeds (makhana)

  1/2 Cup -2tbsp. sugar (less than 1/2 cup)

  1 Tsp. Almond flakes

  1 Tsp. Pistachio flakes

  1/4 Tsp. Cardamom powder

  Few strands of saffron (soaked in 1 tsp milk)

  1 Tsp. Clarified butter (ghee)

Add ghee and roast lotus seeds till they become crispy.

Add milk in a wok and bring to a boil.

Add soaked saffron and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.

Meanwhile crush the roasted lotus seeds with a rolling pin.

Add crushed lotus seeds in milk and cook for 7-8 minutes on low flame.

Add sugar and cook for 5 minutes.

Switch off the flame. Add cardamom powder, almond flakes and pistachio flakes and mix.

Makhana kheer is ready to serve.
