Sambhar Powder

Basic Ingredients

Cooking Method :   

Ingredients - 
* 1Tbsp Chana Dal (Gram Lentil)
* 1Tbsp Toor Dal (Split Pigeon Peas)
* 1Tbsp Urad Dal ( Split Black Lentil)
* 1Tbsp Cumin Seeds
* 1Tbsp Black Pepper Corns
* 1Tbsp Fenugreek Seeds
* 1 Tsp Salt
* 1/2 Tsp Asofoetida (Hing)
* 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder
* 2 Tbsp Coriander Seeds
* 4-5 Whole Red Chillis
* 1/2 Fresh Curry Leaves
* 1 Tsp oil

Heat oil in a pan add curry leaves and roast on low flame till they become crispy.

Add all ingredients except red chilli, turmeric, salt and asofoetida.

Roast on low flame for 6-7 minutes.

Add red chilli and roast for 2 minutes more.

Switch off the flame and add turmeric, salt and asofoetida. Mix well.

Transfer into a plate and allow to cool.

Fill in the mixer jar and make a fine powder.

Store in an airtight container. Homemade sambhar masala's shelf life is 5-6 month.
