Poha is an easy and healthy breakfast. Indori poha is very famous and liked by all. It is sweet and tangy in taste.



Preparation And Cooking Time

Cooking Method :   

  2 Cups Poha (Flatten Rice)

  1/2 Cup Chopped onions

  1/2 Cup Chopped tomatoes

  2 Chopped green chilli

  1/4 Cup Peanuts

  1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder

  1/2 Tsp Red chilli powder

  Salt to taste

  2 Tsp Sugar

  1 Tbsp Lemon Juice

  1 Tsp Mustard seeds

  1 Tbsp Oil

For serving - 1/4 Cup Finely Chopped onions, 1 Tsp Jeeravan Powder/Chaat masala, 1/2 Cup sev, fresh coriander.

Take flatten rice (poha) in a big vessel and wash with water.

Remove the excess water.

Mix gently with hands. Cover with lid and keep aside for 5 minutes.

Mix again gently to make lump free poha.

Heat oil in a wok. Crackle mustard seeds.

Add green chilli and cook for a minute.

Add peanuts and fry for a minute.

Add onion and stir for 2-3 minutes.

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and mix well.

Add 1/4 Cup water. It will keep poha soft for long.

Add sugar and lemon juice.

Add soaked flatten rice and mix gently.

Add fresh coriander, tomatoes and mix well.

Cover for 5 minutes.

For serving - Serve prepared poha in a plate, garnish with chopped onions, fresh coriander, sev and jeeravan powder/chaat masala.
