Aloo Paratha

Aloo parathas is the king of parathas and loved by all. Any body can eat it at any time. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. So enjoy these spicy and tangy parathas an all season favorite but specially liked in cold and rainy days with hot tea, pickle chutney etc.



Preparation And Cooking Time

Indian Flat Bread, Chhapati

Cooking Method :   

  1+1/2 Cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1/2tsp salt, 1tsp ghee

For Stuffing-

  3-4 Medium size boiled & Mashed Potato

  1/4 Cup Fresh coriander

  2 Finely Chopped Green Chilli

  1Tsp Red chilli Powder

  1/2 Tsp Garam Masala

  1/2 Black Salt

  Salt to taste

  1 Tsp Aamchur powder (Dry Mango Powder)

  1 Tbsp Fennel Seeds

Mix salt and wheat flour. Make a soft dough using water.

Add ghee (clarified butter) and knead it well.

Cover it and keep aside.

Meanwhile prepare stuffing -

Mix mashed potatoes and all spices.

Mix with hands and smash potatoes well to get puffed parathas.

Uncover the dough and knead it for a minute again.

Divide the dough and stuffing in equal sized balls.

For perfect paratha dough ball and stuffing ball should be equal.

Roll the dough ball in dry flour and roll it in a 4 inch diameter.

Apply oil.

Place the stuffing ball over it and cover it from all sides and seal properly as shown in the video.

Roll in dry flour and roll it gently in a 7 inch diameter disc.

Roast it on hot tawa from both sides on medium to high flame and apply oil.

Have a look!! How beautifully they have puffed.

Now turn heat on low and roast it till crispy. From this method, you will get crispier paratha from outside and soft from inside.

Remove from heat and serve hot with pickle, curd, ketchup or chutney.
