Red Velvet Cake

Now no need to buy red velvet cake to celebrate your special moments. I have provided a simple and easy recipe with some tips and tricks which will help you to make a perfect red vibrant velvet cake.

Cooking Method :   

Ingredients - For Cake Sponge-                          

         3/4 Cup Maida (All Purpose Flour)            

         1/4 Cup Butter                                            

         1/4 Cup + 1Tbsp Powdered Sugar             

         1 Tsp Cocoa Powder                                    

         1/2 Tsp Red Food Color

         A Pinch of Yellow Food Color

         1/2 Tsp Baking Powder

         1/4 Tsp Baking Soda, A Pinch Salt

         1/2 Tsp Vinegar

         1/2 Cup Luke Warm Milk

         1 Tsp Vanilla Essence

For Frosting-

1 Cup cream Cheese

3/4 Cup Non Dairy Cream

4 Tbsp Powdered Sugar

1 Tsp Vanilla Essence

Add vinegar in luke warm milk and keep aside.

Add baking powder, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder in all-purpose flour and mix well.

Mix sugar and butter and beat it for 3-4 minutes. Add all dry ingredients which were mixed in the bowl.

Add red food color, yellow food color, vanilla essence in luke warm milk and vinegar mixture.

Mix with other ingredients. Gently mix and if required add 1-2 tbsp milk more.

Pour this batter in a greased & lined cake mould. Flatten it with a spatula. And tap it also.

Bake in a preheated oven for 25 minutes on 180 degree Celsius.

Take out and check it with a toothpick. If toothpick comes out clean that means cake is perfectly done.

Add cream cheese in a bowl and whip it. Add vanilla essence and 2 tbsp Powdered sugar. Mix it again. In another big glass bowl add nondairy whipping cream and whip till soft peaks.

Add cream cheese in whipping cream. Fold and whip for 2-3 minutes more.

Add water in remaining sugar and prepare soaking syrup.

Here I have prepared two heart shape sponge cakes.

Trim the cake top with a sharp knife. Collect in a plate and make crumbs from the leftover sponge.

On a cake board apply cream and place a cake sponge. Soak with soaking syrup.

Apply cream cheese frosting and spread evenly. Place another cake sponge on it.

Soak it also with soaking syrup. Cover the cake with cream cheese frosting.

Clean the edges of cake with a tissue paper and keep in fridge for 30 minutes.

Place a star nozzle in icing bag and fill with cream cheese frosting.

Make rosettes on the border of the cake. Cover the mid part of the cake and sides with cake sponge crumbs. Make border with cream cheese frosting.
